India played a lot of cricket in 2022. While the Men in Blue had a really good win percentage in bilateral series, India could not replicate the same kind of performances in multination tournaments like the Asia Cup and the T220 World Cup. Notably, India were knocked out from the group stage of Asia Cup 2022 and suffered a ten-wicket loss to England in the T20 WC 2022 Semifinal. But, despite these major failures, India maintained a good win ratio overall.
India played a total of 71 matches across formats- 7 Tests, 24 ODIs and 40 T20Is, winning 46 of them. While India won four out of seven Tests, they won 14 ODIs. In T20Is, India managed a win percentage of 70 (winning 28 out of 40 matches).
With the increased volume of cricket, quite a few names got a chance to play for India. However, a few names still managed to feature regularly in the playing XI across formats. This also gave such players a chance to make the most of the opportunity and shine in their respective departments.
