Sports commentator Skip Bayless on his ‘the Skip Bayless Show’ revealed his All-Time Top 10 list on Saturday, March 9. However, Bayless had Michael Jordan, LeBron James all among his top 10 list, but the commentator placed the Lakers star player at ninth place. For most of the people, however, LeBron and Jordan remain to be in the top five of the greatest all-time, it wasn’t the same for Bayless.
Despite the Lakers forward’s recent 40,000 career points milestone, the sports commentator was unswayed. In his interaction, he made his stance clear that longevity in the sport does not equate to greater skill or legacy. “Before 40,00 points I had LeBron ninth on my all-time list. After 40,000 points, I still have LeBron ninth on my all-time list,” Bayless said on ‘The Skip Bayless Show’. Clarifying his stance on not picking the Lakers star player in the top five, Bayless added, “Playing longer does not make you better or more valuable.”
Skip Bayless’ All-Time top 10 list:
1.Michael Jordan
2.Magic Johnson
3.Shaquille O’Neal
4.Kareem Abdul-Jabbar
5.Tim Duncan
6.Bill Russell
7.Kobe Bryant
8.Larry Bird
9.LeBron James
10.Wilt Chamberlain
Earlier in the day on Saturday, March 9, Bayless took to X (formerly Twitter) to state how the Lakers have performed with LeBron James. “I am not remotely suggesting the Lakers are better without LeBron. But they play more freely, with more spirit, more fire without him -- probably because they all believe they have to do more and there’s no deferring to LeBron,” he wrote.
Bayless calls Luka Doncic best offensive player in NBA
The sports commentator, who has been one of the critics of Luka Doncic and hasn’t been shy about criticising him in the past, hailed the Slovenian basketballer as the best offensive player in the league. “I would”, Bayless said when asked if he would name Doncic the best offensive player in the NBA right now. “And I have been critical of him in the past. You say I don’t give anybody credit, but I do give him credit … When [Luka] first got into the league, I was skeptical because he was a poor 3-point shooter, kinda LeBron-esque. He couldn’t make his free throws, a lot of clutch free throws,” Bayless further added.
“He has gotten in the lab. Every year, he gets a little better, and a little better. I don’t like to look at him, only because he still doesn’t look like he’s in shape to me, he just doesn’t,” the 72-year-old American said.
