Morocco suffered an early jolt in the semi-final as France scored in the 4th minute of the game. While fans were recovering from the early shock, they got another blow as the team's captain Romain Saïs s was subbed off in the 21st minute. While many were surprised by this move, the real reason behind the substitution has now surfaced.
Notably, Saiss was included in the XI despite being injured and his injury aggravated during the game which forced the manager to make the change.
France lead 1-0 at halftime
The defending champions started the game in grand fashion as they took the lead in the first five minutes. Theo Hernández's strike from inside the box gave France the early 1-0 lead. While the Morocco team created few chances inside France's penalty box they failed to convert them into a goal.
