The latest buzz on social media seems to be regarding the ICC Champions Trophy 2025. Ever since the statements made by the Asian Cricket Council president Jay Shah regarding moving the 2023 Asia Cup to a neutral venue, there have been certain speculation on social media that suggests that the 2025 Champions Trophy could also be moved out of Pakistan. While there has not been any official confirmation yet, a tweet was made by Indian Journalist Vaibhav Bhola.
Notably, the Indian team hasn’t travelled to Pakistan since 2008 citing countless geo-political issues between the two countries. These issues also seeped into the decision to deny Pakistani players permission to play in the Indian Premier League (IPL).

Jay Shah’s comments about the shifting of the Asia Cup were made after the 91st Annual General Meeting of the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) held in Mumbai.
Shah said, "We will have Asia Cup 2023 at a neutral venue. It's the government which decides over the permission of the team visiting Pakistan so we won't comment on that but for the 2023 Asia Cup it's decided that the tournament will be held at some neutral venue."
"The venue for the 2025 Championship trophy is still to be decided, we will comment on that when it is decided. We are getting good earnings from our Media rights. Our motive is domestic players should get more benefits as our earnings are increasing," he added.
India and Pakistan have also played only one bilateral series against each over the past decade. Both teams went head to head in a two-game T20I and three-game ODI series back in 2012 in India. The visiting Pakistani team clinched the ODIs 2-1 while the T20 series ended with a 1-1 draw.
Since the bilateral tour, the two teams have only played each other in ICC tournaments. India continued their undefeated streak against Pakistan in all World Cups (T20 and ODI) until last year's T20 World Cup where the Men in Green registered a historic 10-wicket victory.
