Manchester United te enage sensation Kobbie Mainoo is set to be part of England's provisional squad for the Euro 2024 in Germany. The Three Lions are touted as one of the favourites for the title with an array of world-class players who will avenge their 2021 Euros loss in the final against Italy where they once again fell short in a penalty shootout.
The England manager Gareth Southgate will announce a provisional squad on Tuesday, May 21 at 1 p.m. BST (5:30 p.m. IST) which could include more than 26 players. The Three Lions are slotted in Group C and will start their campaign against Serbia on June 17 before taking Denmark and Slovenia.
Mainoo, Bowen, Colwill, Jones, Eze in provisional squad
As reported by talkSPORT, Kobbie Mainoo has been picked to be part of the provisional squad. Similarly, youngsters like Jarrod Bowen (West Ham), Levi Colwill (Chelsea), Crystal Palace's Marc Guehi, Eberechi Eze, Adam Wharton and Dean Henderson have reportedly made England’s provisional Euro 2024 squad, per Ben Jacobs. While the Times reported that Jarell Quansah and Curtis Jones of Liverpool will also find a place in the provisional squad.
No place for Sterling and Henderson in England's squad
On the other hand, Chelsea forward Raheem Sterling and Ajax midfielder Jordan Henderson are set to be excluded from the provisional squad. As per Jacobs, " Sterling is understood to have taken the news graciously." Whereas in a report by the Athletic, Jordan Henderson has been left out of England’s provisional Euro 2024 squad.
