2. Couldn’t cross the 3-digit mark but gave the team a comfortable win
It was a delight to watch Shikhar Dhawan bat in this season. He has reinvented himself and has definitely given a happy headache to the Indian think tank to decide their openers for the T20 World Cup later this year. In match 11 of the tournament, Delhi Capitals were given a target of 196 by Punjab Kings, but such was the impact of the southpaw’s innings of 92 from 49 deliveries that Delhi sealed the match with 10 balls to spare. It was a deliberate effort to close out the game early since his innings had put them in a good position and in a bid to reach there early, he did not even mind missing out on a hundred. Dhawan’s masterclass against Punjab saw 13 fours and 2 sixes and was an absolute delight for the fans.
